FAN960's Pat Steinberg just sent out the following tweet... So Backlund will play on a line with Glencross and Nystrom tonight. The rest...45-21-12, 16-22-17, 11-33-10. 6:30 start tonight.

YESTERDAY...

According to FAN960's "Boomer" Dean Molberg, the Calgary Flames have recalled F Mikael Backlund from the Abbotsford Heat.

FAN960's Pat Steinberg added this tweet... Expected to play tomorrow vs. Dallas.

And finally, Elliote Friedman offered this tweet... Sounds like Backlund will play with Iginla. Conroy hurt. Sutter trying to solve from within.

OMG BRILLIANT MOVE!!!!

So the Flames cant buy a goal if their life depends on it so lets recall the #1 offensive prospect.

Oh wait... He has 20 points and is tremendously underachieving. I guess if DAZ wants to kick us when were all down he might as well bring up #1 so we can all see how bleak the future is too.

Not so sure its the answer, but if Conroy is hurt they need another body (don't forget Dawes & Moss are injured as well), and with the way things are going, why not take a look at your top prospect? At least take a look at where he is. Perhaps he becomes a trade chip and they just want a solid look at him first. Don't forget, if a deal is to be made, it likely won't happen until closer to the deadline. I have a feeling the Flames aren't all that enthused with adding a body prior to the Olympic break only to pay said body throughout the break - that's a 2 week cheque for nothing. Guess we'll see, but in my opinion this is better than status quo.

I suppose you are right. I would just rather see something happen on this roster that would shake things up more.
