The bottom 6 actually fared decently. Looks like the Bourque-Morrison-Hagman trio got eaten up along with the "top line" of Iginla-Jokinen-Tanguay.

Yikes, that's ugly.

Kipper 0 for 1 on shorthanded shots against. That'll only take him about 40 games to dig out of that hole. It was a pretty fancy goal by Eberle though.

As I said in the game posts, player of the game for me was Sutter. Finishes even here, has a good fight, did all right for a 'rookie'.

Ian White was awful tonight and these numbers only confirm it. He was absolutely terrible. Pardy was way off as well and Gio was no hell either.

I still cannot believe the amount of turnovers...NHL.com has the giveaways at 12, actually fewer than Edmonton's 16, but someone is smoking the heavy, because they have Jokinen down with zero giveaways and I could describe 2, I remember them so well.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with Meyer, and Jackman and Ivanans (though I hate to say it, I wish him well) were terrible and not very useful. However, nobody looked good up front to me in all honesty.

I watched again on DVR and I've got the Flames defense at 14 turnovers on their own.

I thought the only Flame defenceman who looked decent was Regher but looking at those totals I guess not. White looked brutal especially trying to fend off Penner on the no-goal that was, and the numbers prove it. It would be nice if Gio hit the net tonight, he looked like he was trying to impersonate Mr. High and wide himself.

I thought the bottom 6 were actually very good. The numbers above bear that out and there were a couple of good cycling shifts, even with Thing Two on the ice ( standing up that is).

So, speaking of Thing Two, he has very quickly become the Latvian Liability. $1.2 M invested over the next 2 years and an epic fail in his first game that counts. His effectiveness has to come from a healthy respect of his abililites, and after that debacle, I don't think anyone is going to fear him. Certainly not the plumbers in Edmonton. He may not play for quite a while, and time regaining his confidence could mean it's Christmas before we see the guy chuck knuckles again.

@PrairieStew

I thought I'd hate it but i like the thirdl ine trio of Glencross Backlund and Jackman. Regehr played decent, I thought Pardy played pretty bad, Gio looked good, and considering the fact that it was Brodie's first game, I saw some really good defensive plays on his part.

@Kent Wilson

I see that Kipper is listed. Why list the goalie in the table?
