John Down reports today that the Flames have sent many of their junior players back to their respective clubs. Leach, Reinhart, Holland and Bennett all played minor roles in the prospect tournament, which is not uncommon for 18 and 19 year olds. Also goiing back to junior is Cam Lanigan, who was released by the Flames without being inked. That Lanigan didn't stick with the organization is no surprise either after the youngster allowed a few softies against the Vancouver kids.

The WHL season starts next weekend, so if they have no hope of sticking in the bigs, that's the best place for them. Howse shouldn't be far behind these guys, unless the team wants to keep monitoring his injury for a bit longer.

I'm really sad we missed out on seeing Howse play. Aside from Brodie/Negrin/Wahl he was the guy I was most interested in.

Howse is one of those guys that I really wanted to see too...the steps he's taken over the last two seasons are impressive, so seeing him in a tournament like this would have been cool.
