The Flames special teams continue to be terrible and it's part of the reason they lost the game tonight. They were by far the better team at ES in the first period and were unlucky to not be ahead going into the second, but that's basically where things ended for Calgary. They stuttered through 7 PP's, including a 5 minute major and generated just 9 chances total. The Wild managed 6 chance son their two PP's in contrast (converting once).

The Flames hit a hot goaltender and some bad luck tonight...with 23 scoring chances, you should be hitting twine more than once (let alone never). That said, the special teams are a big time area of concern.

In terms of individual play, not a lot stands out as the Flames were chasing all game inflating their chance counts. What is partially amazing is that Rene Bourque still somehow managed to be -1 on the evening. Ditto the third defensive pairing.

I want to wake up in the morning and before I make it to work I want to hear that the Flames have either fired the coach who's in charge of special teams or that they've made a trade; or both. If not before work, then definitely by the time I am done work. Time for a shake up.I can't speak for organizational patience, but mine has run out.

Amazing how many times you see 51 in there.

Granted there is a fair bit of chances against as well, but he's in the game at least.

This team has too many low event players I think. Its tough to generate chances when you are just chipping the puck off the glass and dumping it in too much, but I guess thats the only way this team can win.
