Flames are fully ensconced in the softest portion of the 2011-12 schedule and have thus far mostly taken advantage. Calgary has taken points from most of the lightweights since heading into December and this evening provides another opportunity to claw closer to the playoff picture.

The Avs had the Flames number a couple of years ago and seemed destined to win every time the two teams met, regardless of how either of them played. The script has flipped since 09-10, with Calgary taking a majority of the games the last two seasons.

They'll need to continue that dominance tonight.

Not only a "should win" game but another "must win" game due to the early 8-ball they put themselves behind.

Nonetheless, a win tonight gets them out of the basement of the NorthWest Division.. a step in the right direction for sure.
