Face-offs

Flames crushed the Ducks at ES tonight, in part because they started chasing 2 minutes into the contest. That said, even when things were even up half way through the game, Calgary was the better team 5-on-5 and it was only the Ducks PP that kept them in the game.

Individually, Backlund and Bouma have poor numbers but that's mostly because Sutter sat them down after the first period which was when the club struggled the most. It's too bad it took the club the first 20 minutes to wake up, because if they start the game when the puck dropped, they could have ended it in regulation.

6-1-1 would get Calgary to 97 points. Is it possible? Absolutely! 4 wins against Blues/Oilers/Avs, 2 wins against Anaheim and LA, and a point against Van and SJ. Will it be tough? Absolutely! But don't lose the faith yet.

@schevvy

I see the math in a 6-1-1 record for 97 points. However, in addition to 6-1-1 being nearly impossible, they need someone to lose a ton of games. Realistically, Dallas AND Anaheim can't be any better than 5-4-1 over their next ten games. Chicago or LA or Nashville can't be any better than 5-5. While your dedication to the home team is to be respected, the Flames playoff hopes went up in smoke on Sunday night.
