Face-offs

San Jose has been the scene of a lot of ugly massacres for the Flames the last few years. Add this one to the list. The only reason Calgary was within three by the end was two lucky bounces (Sarich point shot, Bourque shot from the side of the net). They were fundamentally outplayed in every way and it wasn't even close.

The kids and Jackman were alright, frankly, but the money players got absolutely buried. Bouwmeester in particular had a terrible evening. Jarome et al were outclassed. If there was ever a classic example of why the Flames need to improve the top-end of the rotation, it was tonight. Calgary hasn't beaten a better than average team in weeks, which is why they'll be consigned to the middle of the conference until they add a few more elite talents - particularly up front.

That EV number is a disgrace. Avalanche-esque, frankly, and I don't mean that in a nice way. 56 minutes at EV. 4 chances. Throw a sheet on them.

Yikes! I knew they played bad but I didn't think it was that bad. Anyways to my point:

97 points I think will be roughly the 8th seed. Here is what the teams would need to go to reach that.

Chi 4-4-1 LA. 4-4-1 NSH 4-3-1 ANA 5-4-0 DAL 5-3-1 CGY 6-0-0

Basically we need to run the table, (which will be extremely difficult), and have two of those teams go inferiour to those records. So we need ALOT of help even if we do somehow find a way to run the table. I don't want to say it's over, but it is basically over.

P.S: I loved how Mike Rogers was completely honest about the play of J-Bo. He was absolutely horrendous tonight. Poor Regher

God I hate it when the Oiler/Canucks trolls are right.
