GAME DAY BITCHES

Get a load of our fellow Justice League: Twitter edition cohort. @faqu94 sends his best along with a picture of himself getting ready for Game 7. @michealrioux later pointed out: “I love how he wolfed down a bag of Old Dutch chips right before the pic."

Classic case of crushing Old Dutch and taking an epic pic if you ask us.

Game 7 for all the beans is all that’s left Nation. It's a good old fashioned GDB: SCF7.

THE GREAT WANYETO

"It's time for bold action and declarations of victory. Good luck fellas. Bruins 5 - Canucks 2"

– The Great Wanyeto. Before Game 6.

NOT TOO SHABBY

As a person who sold his TV to attend Game Six of the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals, we can identify with the importance of the big old W the Bruins were able to take home. But the Oilers shaped hole in our heart can attest to the fact that Game 6 wins - no matter how dominating they may be - do not a Stanley Cup winner make.

So when we say good luck to the Boston Bruins we mean it, understanding that as a fan the loss stays with you for a good long time.  But as a player what are the odds are you are going back to the Finals again in your career?

Someone with a calculator! Quickly now! What percentage of NHL players in the SCF have appeared in a Cup Final game again in their career?

Can’t figure it out? Har har har.

Neither can the Canucks it would seem.

Go BROONS. Win it for Tim Thomas.

@Wanye

"What percentage of NHL players in the SCF have appeared in a Cup Final game again in their career?"

I don't know but here's a fun fact, kids: in 1919 the Stanley Cup Finals between the Montreal Canadiens and Seattle Metropolitans ended in a no decision due to the Spanish flu epidemic! Kerpow! Zowee!

For the love of Brule!

Following in the footsteps of Travis Dakin (commentor #4), I am doing the unthinkable and also (briefly) changing my profile picture from Paul Coffey to Ray Bourque. Go Bruins! (Paul, this is only temporary, you will always be my hockey hero).

Took awhile to change, apparently.

I have a feeling this is going to be a dirty dirty game and the refs are going to let it fly. I think both goaltenders are going to get run over tonight and a possiblility of a lot of goals both ways. As much as I regret saying it, I think the Canucks are going to have a controversal game 7 win tonight. And they will need to call in the army to get all the crazy asians under control as they celebrate their first true Canadian tradition.

You know whats kinda sad. I went to the Vancouver Army site to see what articles they had going and even though they are in the SCF they only seem to have one article a day. Oilers didn't even make the playoffs and average around 4 articles a day.

Now Sedin is backtracking about Guaranteeing the win. God I hate this team. They cant even guarantee a win properly. You dont apologize for telling the world you're going to win. You just go out and win or come back on your shield.

He's already got one foot out the door. Even he doesnt believe they will win.

Boston 4-1

Conn Smyth to Thomas

Canucks fans go back to eating Edamame and picking Mushrooms business as usual.

My fun facts of the day.

#1 - Not only has the team that scores first won the last 6 Stanley Cup final games 7's, but there hasn't been a lead change in a finals game 7 since the Flyers blew a 1-0 lead against the Oilers in 1987. The moral, score first and you win.

#2 - If you exclude empty net goals, the last three final game 7's were all decided by a score of 2-1.

My call for tonight, bruins go up 2-0 and win 2-1.

Tim Thomas shuts the door and Bruins finally win one 3-0 in Vancity.. 3rd goal is the ole empty netter... Timmy Thomas gets the MVP... and I don't care how devoted of a Canucks fan you are... if you think Luongo is deserving of the MVP yer delusional. The guy's looked like a peewee wet paper bag on the road.. should have been pulled in all three games if his coach would have had any brains in game 3... Bruins deserve this more. They've been more consistent on their road games where the Canucks were a no show. It's a travesty if the Canucks win this. At least if they do it'll be 40 years before they do it again....

I don't even know if it is the Canucks so much, I respect the fact that they are a good team but damn I hate some player's and all of those fans!

Keep the negativity coming hockey fans of losing teams. Kesler takes that negative energy, swallows it down and turns it into body checks and goals. Luongo takes it and shoves it in his pads to make them bigger and block more shots. The Sedin twins and Burrows... well they don't understand English very well so they don't even know about your bitterness. They haven't had time to learn it what with all the perfect passes and sweet goal scoring they've been doing. Bieksa... well you're lucky he's so busy captalizing on bad bounces or he might come to your house and eat your babies.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go plan a parade route. GO CANUCKS GO! BELIEVE IN BLUE! KES WE CAN! IN LU WE TRUST! BIEK-CELLENT! WIN DA TURD & DA CUP!

Congratulations to the Vancouver Canucks, the greatest hockey team ever assembled (according to the very knowledgeable and winning fans of Vancouver). Classy fans all the way, throwing stuff on the ice at the end. Even when the Oilers lost the Stanley Cup on home ice, Edmonton fans never... oh wait.

Stupid riot took away all the fun I was supposed to have in relishing the Canucks losing. Oh well, there's always THE ENTIRE SUMMER!!!

This seriously could not have gone any better. I kept saying to myself "Flames lost in seven, Oilers lost in seven, Canucks WILL lose in seven". A 4-0 loss ON HOME ICE to boot?? Christmas came early!!

What a day, what a day. I'm really excited to see everyone incredibly depressed at work tomorrow. Which shirt should I wear, Messier or Ranford?

Vancouver has a good chance to be back in the cup next year 2012. The only teams in the west that will improve will be Chicago and LA. SJ looks like it could decline, Det always good but not good enough.

In the east Boston, Philly and Pittsburg.
