KHL: Kovy eats babies, Malkin is a monster, Grabo, Kulemin, and Komarov score, and more

Ilya Kovalchuk will eat your children.

While the NHL and its players continue talking about playing, here's some action from a very busy day in the KHL, featuring players like Ovechkin, Malkin, Datsyuk, Kovalchuk, Graobski, Kulemin, and more. A note for Oilers fans who are only interested in Nail Yakupov: We didn't do the Neftekhimik game because he didn't get any points. He recieved 25 minutes in penalties for an elbow, but when we checked the footage it was no where to be found.

With or without Nail - enjoy!

Grabovski snipes off a Datsyuk feed as Ilya Bryzgalov picks up a rare win. He had a pretty easy game.

Leo Komarov continues to look great playing with Ovechkin and Backstrom as Dynamo Moscow beats Lokomotiv in a match of two very strong teams.

Kovalchuk ends it with a late shorthanded breakaway. All that's missing from his goal celebration is an axe and him screaming "HEEEERE'S KOVY!"

Malkin is good. Kulemin is good. Gonchar is good. Magnitogorsk is amazing. Remember the name (or at least remember how to spell it).

Joe Pavelski seems like he's finally learning the ways of the KHL, but Sergei Kostitsyn and Avangard take this one.

The Ukraine train of Donbass gets a bit of a surprise win over Evgeny Kuznetsov's Traktor.

Barys Astana is starting to look pretty good. Victor Hedman was named player of the month for Novmeber, by the way.

Two very unappealing teams if you're only in it for the NHL names, but these are two good teams - especially Ak Bars.

Looking at Kovy in that pic. it becomes obvious (to me) why no CBA deal has been reached. These guys clearly hate their jobs, I can read it in his face. The only thing that makes Kovy's career tollerable is the $6.666667 million per year that he is due to receive until 2025. If an agreement were to be reached that cut his take home by 10-20% he would probably find it impossible to report to work. $5.333334 million for 7 to 8 months playing hockey at the highest level, get real. Hey, we all have to have our price.
