This one was never in doubt. Kings have been outshooting a lot of the opposition recently and tonight was no exception. They began by running over Calgary and, aside from a couple of PP's, they never really stopped. In the third they shut things down comprehesively and the Flames didn't have an answer.
There might be a lot of talk about Calgary not wanting it after this one, but let's face it...they were simply outclassed from start to finish.

I am so sick of watching the same slow mediocre team year after year. My hope was that they would crash down to a top five pick, but, as usual, they'll finish 10th and get a middle pick. Granted, we got a beauty at #13 last year, but that's not how you build a team in today's NHL.
Is this finally going to be the year that they blow up this prehistoric pack of has beens and never weres!!!?
Just remember, flames are only 1 or 2 players away from the cup. Only problem is that those players are Gretzky and Orr. Book those tee times, losers, and welcome to the wonderful world of a rebuild.
Outclassed? I think that's an understatement. I was looking forward to a quick paced, hard hitting affair. I fell asleep, nuff said. Really enjoyed the fans booing during and after the third, maybe Feaster/King/Ownership noticed? Probably not. Same ol' same ol' for another 82 next year.
I was a teen when the Flames came to town and I have been a loyal fan for 30+ years. Never has there been an era like this for me - where I don't identify with this team. I just don't care about this group of players. When is ownership going to wake up and save this great - but fading - franchise?
LA Kings executed the game plan from their coach tonight to a tee. They were full value for the win. No fight and no pride.
Zzzzzzz Apathy......Another wasted year.
Flames were awful tonight! Usually when in the stands I am into it but instead my old friend and I competed with two 22-year old girls (who were talking about makeup and partying) to see who could annoy the fans arounfpd us by talking through the entire game!
Hey is Owen Nolan in shape?...let's bring him back to play on line #1 or 2! And I think Nick Kypreos is beyond his concussion issues so maybe him too...and perhaps Randy Carlyle could drop his coaching gig in T.O. And play D for us! Signed, not bitter fan

Couldn't agree more. This team has no identity. Outside of Kipper, there is not one player on this team who I can really empathize with. The coaches the same. Including tonight, the past 10 games, have truly shown how bad this team really is. With this season in the books, this organization is straying into obscurity along with the Islanders and Blue Jackets. Many of Flames Fan would be fool hearted to believe if any free agents in the off-season would want to come to this franchise.
The best thing that could come out of this season is No MORE SUTTERS. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE A NEW CAPTAIN WITH NEW LEVEL OF LEADERSHIP AND SPIRIT.
Question, I am still trying to get my head around all the stats that Kent and the boys give us (corsi, ect), David Moss has good stats correct? At what point do you expect him to contribute with a goal, or heaven forbid, maybe an assist? There are others too. Jokinen has fallen off a very steep cliff the last month (?) offensively, how screwed is this organization by not trying to get something for him at the deadline? What about Iginla, should he not try to put this team on his back, as the captain, and lead by example!!! with some gritty play in a must win game. So friggin frustrating.
Well no surprises here. LA were so much better than us it was silly. We will be close again but we are so far away> Its time people, to tear this thing down and start again with younger pieces that want to win. I dont know what others think but I think I could say that the Flames have played like a legitimate playoff team for 6 games this year. I know we have won many more than that but there is winning & there is winning and looking great doing it. Feaster can start the year end evaluations earlier this year.
Corsi measures all shots the same: goals, saves, shots wide, blocked shots. A guy can have a good corsi number night after night and still not produce very much. At the other end of the spectrum you can have a guy who doesn't seem to do much, but every now and then bust out and scores - think Alexander Mogilny or Petr Klima.
I don't have a problem with advanced stats to a point, but the bottom line is scoring more often than the other guy - not taking more low percentage shots than him. My pet peeve from advanced stats proponents is their insistence that plus minus is a useless stat. It has to be taken into context, but it is far from useless.
iggy needs to score some more
@Kevin R
way to be negative, kevin r
let's be positive: WE WILL MAKE ThE PLAYOFFS
Tried the positive waves several times this year dude & they proceeded to crap the bed every time. Were you at the last Columbus game? I was. End of story. Team needs to go in a new direction, if thats negative, oh well. Keep thinking we're one player away from being a contender.
