According to Darren Dreger on twitter.
We've covered why this is a good idea here.
More as this develops.
Why did colorado suddenly give a crap after ROR turned down 2 offers and said that he did not want to play in colorado anymore? I know, I know, I should have anticipated that a clusterf*&k like this might happen. Yeah, we still get a first round pick, proven in juniors, unproven at the pro level, nothing that helps now. Where does Feaster go from here? I think that I would rather take the pain of being kicked in the nuts, then watching this train wreck that never seems to end, but yet, you still watch.
On a side note, any new updates on Kipper? Avangard Omsk in tied 2-2 in their series with Sibir, no Ramo yet. MacDonald looked terrible tonight, but the effort train crashed through the forwards, then the defense, then ended up going through MacBackup. Let's get a big lead and then sit back. What was Calgary's final shot total, 23? and 5 in the last 9 minutes, trailing by 1 and two late powerplays??? Consistently Inconsistent is the new motto. Every game matters, yeah right!!
What now Feaster, what now!!
We can all hope someone higher on the totem pole than Feaster realizes this team is going nowhere and gives him the green light to start an accelerated rebuild. We have some decent prospects (emphasis on decent, not much in the way of superstars). Ship out some of these complacent veterans and hope a culture change helps. Bring in some bodies that actually care. For there to be such a consistent lack of effort from a core of players that for the most part has been the same forever leaves a bad taste in my mouth. There is no sense of pride or urgency anymore.
Every game where you think that they are turning a corner (just like the phoenix game in Calgary), they lay an egg and revert back to their old ways and old methodology, "We just need to score 1 just 1 and let's lean on Kipper." "No Kipper to lean on, so now what do we do?" Let's try to score more goals and not play a sound, tough, defensive game." Bob Hartley's quote on CalgaryFlames.com post game sounds like even he has had enough and has run out of possible answers or solutions, he is merely a puppet. “I’ve watched many games from last year. It seems to be the same song. Defensively our reads and our forechecking game, we just stopped playing. It’s plain and simple.”
What changes will be made now is anybody's guess, it's literally a crap shoot.
Maybe a good thing the Avs matched?
