Tonight, the Calgary Flames (24-31-7) host the New York Islanders (24-32-9) at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The game is an important one in the reverse standings.  If the Flames win in regulation, they leap frog the Islanders into 25th overall (no good).  If the Flames lose in regulation and Florida beats the Sabres , the Flames end up tied for the 28th spot overall (excellent).  The night will no doubt be special as former Flame great, Joe Nieuwendyk, will be honored in the Flames 'Forever a Flame' program.  Puck drops at 7 pm MT (or whenever the ceremony ends).

Today the Calgary Flames (23-31-7) host the Ottawa Senators (27-24-11) at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The game comes mere hours after the annual NHL trade deadline.

The Flames and Senators went into the deadline with two different mantras. The Ottawa Senators, who sit 4 points out of the final Eastern wildcard spot, decided they were buyers in the days leading up to the deadline. The Flames, on the other hand, have been sellers since December.

John Gaudreau, drafted in the 4th round by the Calgary Flames in 2011, has been a staple in any optimistic discussions revolving around the Flames over the past few years. Thus far, in his college career, Gaudreau has been nothing short of amazing. He put up nearly 1.5 points per game in his sophomore year and is racking up 2 points per game this year, his 3rd year with Boston College. Gaudreau’s current 2 ppg translates to a 67 NHLE and he is currently riding a 23-game point streak (he's got 48 points during that streak). Johnny clearly looks to be a special player, but just how special is he?

Tonight, the Calgary Flames (19-27-7) try for their fourth straight victory when they host the San Jose Sharks (34-14-5) at the Scotiabank Saddledome.  The Flames have won their last three games, all of which have come on home ice.  The three-game winning streak is the Flames longest winning streak of the 2013-14 season.  It has been nearly two years since the Flames have won four or more games in a row. The last time the Flames won four straight games was March of the 2011-12 season when they actually won five games in a row from March 6, 2012 to March 15, 2012. Puck drops at 7:00 pm MT on Sportsnet West.
