Greetings from New York, where another gathering of the clans ended last night with little drama, at least relative to the buildup coming in. Of course, Canuck fans might quibble with that description, but their little psychodrama was very much the exception this weekend. After the jump, I’ll look at a few matters of note from the day’s proceedings.

The Flames' woes on the road continued last night with a loss versus the Capitals, and further bad news might be just around the corner. Rene Bourque has a hearing with the Sheriff today, following a hit on Nick Backstrom late in last night's loss.

There's been plenty of talk this year about the level of effectiveness, or lack thereof, that we've seen from Jarome Iginla through the first six weeks of the season. The captain is wallowing in the depths thus far, with 9 points in 17 games, and a scruffy looking -10 next to his name. The underlying numbers aren't any source of comfort either, as Iginla has been outshot thus far against middling comp with a neutral ZS %.
