This article is for those of you who want the NHL to become a better product.
This isn’t for Gary Bettman, because we have heard your deceitful responses too often. We know you will tell us the league has never been better, of course, that is until 12 months before the CBA is set to expire and then magically your message will change and you’ll outline all the financial hardships NHL owners have endured.
Your words means absolutely nothing to me. You’ve proven you will talk out of both sides of your mouth to push your agenda of the day. You’ve proven you don’t care about the fans. All you care about is if they keep paying the over-inflated ticket prices to watch your game.
It is nothing personal, honestly. It isn't. I understand business, and as you've shown multiple times you know more about the game and what is best for it than I or any other lowly reporter or fan does. It is okay, but as the great Maya Angelou once said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.”
I want to talk to those who should care more about their players and the enjoyment of the NHL.

What a glorious day.
Canada can knock the USA out of the tournament with a victory tonight. A win would give the Red and White a 2-0 record and guarantee them a berth in the playoff round, along with Team Europe, while the USA would play the Czech Republic in a meaningless game on Thursday.
How fun would it be to end the American's tournament after only two games? I'd say about a trillion times more fun than it was to be a fan of any Canadian NHL team last year. You've earned it.

The final rosters for the World Cup of Hockey will be announced today. Finland, Russia, Sweden and the Czech Republic filled out their 23-man rosters this morning, and the remaining four teams will be named this afternoon.
When Canada's final roster is finalized there will be a lot of debate among passionate Canadian fans. Some very good players won't make the roster, but will we see ten eventual Hall of Famers omitted?
That is what happened in 1991.

It was another rollercoaster weekend for Oilers fans. You were on a high after Friday's convincing victory over Chicago, but the winning ride didn't last long after yesterday's loss to the Florida Panthers.
We are officially past the halfway point of the NHL season, with only the Rangers, Canucks, Panthers and Blue Jackets not playing 41 games, but we've seen 627 of 1230 games played.
Here are some thoughts on the first half and some expectations for the second.

Canada finally announced their 2014 roster for the Sochi Olympics, and without a doubt the biggest surprise is Claude Giroux not making the team.
There are eleven returning players on the 25-man roster, but in my eyes Rick Nash continues to be the most overrated player in the NHL. Nash has had one 70-point season, and since the 2010 Olympics he has scored 185 points in 228 games, 25th most amongst Canadian-born players. In that same time span Marty St.Louis has scored the most points, 271, while Giroux is third with 255.
