After leading the baby Flames over the baby Ducks with 3 goals and 5 points last night, a lot of questions are being asked about Jon Rheault. The 5'11", 200 pound winger was a late find by the Heat last year and has tread an interesting path to get to the Flames prospect camp.

With the recent news that Daymond Langkow is nearing 100% and is probable to play a majority of the season (if not all 82 games), the chances that Mikael Backlund is inevtiably bound for Abbotsford are good. This will no doubt cause some consternation in a portion of the Flames fanbase. Perhaps not without reason.

According to a bombshell of a report by Larry Brooks, Roberto Luongo's contract may be one the NHL is taking aim at in the wake of the ongoing Ilya Kovalchuk fiasco. Brooks claims the league has offered the players union an ultimatum, consisting of two choices:

It's September again. There's already a chill in the evening air in town and soon the Leaves will begin to change color. It's the time of year when young mens thoughts turn to matter of hockey.

As such, it's about time to start posting rosters. There remains the issue of Calgary's cap non-complicance, but that's going to be part of the fun in constructing the line-ups. Who do you demote? Who do you scratch? Until the question is ultimately answered by Sutter, we're free to speculate.
