As we barrel head-long into the off-season, the 2013 NHL Draft approaches rapidly. Estimations of what your Calgary Flames will do at the draft, in terms of picks, can be guided in terms of what they've said publicly on the subject and what they've done in the past.

Flames Top 15 Prospects 2013: #12 Tyler Wotherspoon

A year ago, you could be forgiven for forgetting about Tyler Wotherspoon. The 2011 second round choice of the Calgary Flames was a face in the crowd on a very stacked Portland Winterhawks team at the time. This year, he's become one of their best players and has arguably raised his stock faster and higher than many in the organization had hoped.
Acquired with one of the picks acquired in the Tim Erixon trade with the Rangers, Wotherspoon has been to three straight WHL championship series – finally winning this year – and will be appearing at the Memorial Cup next week, to go along with a trip to Ufa, Russia for the World Juniors at Christmas.
He's had a very busy, very successful season.

One of the more prominent new faces on the list (and in the Flames organization) is Yale University forward Kenny Agostino. If he sounds familiar, he's one of three assets that Calgary acquired for Jarome Iginla in March, as well as a newly-minted NCAA National Champion.

Following the completion of the season, Flames general manager Jay Feaster (and several players) expressed that their team is in a decent good place going forward.
They're not entirely wrong. While the team on the ice is what it is – there are a lot of holes – but the club does have a bounty of resources at their disposal heading into the summer. A look at how the Flames sit compared to their counterparts in three areas can give a glimpse as to how the club sits, and who may be ideal trade partners going forward.
