What questions remain after Sean Monahan's extension?

Most fans of the Calgary Flames are just happy any uncertainty surrounding Sean Monahan's contract extension has been put to bed. The Flames and Monahan agreed to a seven year, $44.625 million pact on Friday, leaving the team with just one remaining high profile extension to get done. Monahan signing long term is definitely a good thing, but it still leaves me with a couple lingering questions.

But the offseason's most intriguing addition might be the one flying most under the radar: new assistant coach Paul Jerrard. On top of significantly addressing their goaltending issues at an affordable price, the Flames selected nine players at the 2016 NHL Draft. Lots of trade talk, far less action for the Flames in Buffalo

The Calgary Flames were admittedly involved in a ton of trade conversations over the 2016 draft weekend in Buffalo. At the end of it, though, the Flames had made just the one deal with St. Louis despite arriving at the NHL's annual convention with ten picks. While one trade might fall short of the expectations set by all that fun speculation, it doesn't mean Calgary's weekend was a disappointment.
