That one stings.  Despite carrying a 3-1 lead heading into the third period, and holding a 4-2 lead into the final half of the third period, the Calgary Flames fell 5-4 to the Detroit Red Wings in overtime, starting off a five game road trip on a sour note.  It was a game with plenty of Calgary positives, and one of their best periods in recent memory...yet the Flames have just one point to take from it.

The Calgary Flames found the back of the net, and found the back of the net often on Friday night, taking a 7-2 win at home over the Chicago Blackhawks.  It was a strong game pretty much from start to finish for the home side, and thanks in part to a three goal night from Jarome Iginla, the Flames snapped a three game losing skid and did it against a pretty good opponent.

It's been a while...so maybe the Flames are due?  The Flames have lost eight straight games against the Chicago Blackhawks, heading into their meeting of the season...it goes tonight at the Scotiabank Saddledome (7:30 pm, TSN and The FAN 960).  Regardless of the opponent, maybe it's time the Flames snap out of this skid...it's their final home game before a tough 5 game road trip through the Eastern Conference.
