Where to Start?

What a start to the weekend we've had surrounding the Calgary Flames, with so many different discussion topics it's tough to formulate things on all of them.  Friday brang us news about Mark Giordano, Daymond Langkow and the Abbotsford Heat.  Throw that in with the impending return of David Moss, and there's a lot buzzing in Flameland.

Postgame: Ouch

Well we've heard this before.  The top players on the Calgary Flames are not buying into what needs to be done, and it was the main thing harped on by Head Coach Brent Sutter following a 6-5 home loss at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche.  It was a game where Calgary held three leads, including a 4-3 cushion heading into the third period.

FGD: Conroypalooza

He's Craig Conroy.  He's played in 497 career games with the Calgary Flames, and tonight he'll be honored for playing game number 1000 of his NHL career.  It's the overwhelming storyline heading into Calgary's tenth game of the season, a meeting with their Northwest Division rivals in the Colorado Avalanche (7:30 pm, TSN and The FAN 960).

Postgame: Whew

That was the total opposite of pretty, as the Calgary Flames were able to pull one of their behind and eventually skate to a 5-4 shootout win over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.  Alex Tanguay scored the winner on a gorgeous roof shot to seal a game where Calgary held a three goal lead late in the second period.

FGD: Bring Em On...Again

The fact that the Flames take on the Oilers tonight is exciting.  The fact that 33.3% of Calgary's opposition to this point have been the Oilers makes it significantly less exciting.  Nonetheless, here they are...for the third time this season, the Calgary Flames take on the Chosen Ones, and for the second time at the Scotiabank Saddledome (7 pm, Sportsnet West, The FAN 960).
