As the Calgary Flames prepare for training camp, there seems to be one common theme we're hearing from the team as they've all now arrived in the city. Whether it be individuals looking to bounce back from down years or whether guys are looking at it from a team standpoint, everyone is looking at the 2010-11 campgain as a chance at redemption. That optimistic approach will be the theme around the Flames to start the season, but eventually it has to turn into results.

Looking at more of the positives following a disappointing 2009-10 season for the Calgary Flames, you can't go very far without getting to Miikka Kiprusoff. The 33 year old goaltender had one of his best seasons of his career, a season that can't be done justice solely by looking at statistics.

Last season was an offensive nightmare for the Calgary Flames, we all know that. Now that we look back on the season that was and get set for the upcoming campaign, we can delve a little further into who made eachother tick (and who didn't). When doing some number crunching, two specific forward duo's ended up doing some pretty good work.

With all this not-so-positive talk over the last few days surrounding names like Tim Jackman and Alex Tanguay, it's probably time to look at something definitevely positive from last season. Kent already put together a great analysis of Mark Giordano's breakout season, and now I'll look at the career season for Flames forward Rene Bourque.

It was one of the scariest moments I can remember watching hockey. Flames forward Daymond Langkow suffered a neck injury on a seemingly innocent looking play early in the second period of a game in Minnesota on March 21st. The immediate good news was delivered shortly after Langkow left the ice, in that he was moving around. However, the injury would end Langkow's season, and it has put in doubt his return to start the upcoming season. But from who I've talked to over the last few weeks, things seem to be looking up, which is only good news for the Flames.
