There was plenty to like about Calgary's game on Saturday night in San Jose, but it goes down as another loss, this time 4-3 at the hands of the Sharks. Lots of good things happened...Jarome Iginla scored a timely goal and Jay Bouwmeester showed some offensive flair...but in the end, Joe Pavelski's line was the difference, and they drop the Flames two games below. 500.

After the Calgary Flames fell 5-4 in Phoenix last night, it seems pretty clear what the team needs to do heading into their second meeting with the San Jose Sharks tonight at the HP Pavilion (8 pm, CBC and The FAN 960). After names like Jarome Iginla and Alex Tanguay let the team down in the desert, it's time to ride the lines that are getting the job done, and on a very consistent basis.

The Calgary Flames were not horrible on Friday night in Phoenix, falling 5-4 to the Coyotes. In fact, there times when they were extremely effective and dominant. However, when your captain finishes a deserving -4 and players like Alex Tanguay and Brendan Morrison are well under water too, you're not going to win very many games.

As the Calgary Flames strive for some consistency, they've made some lineup changes going into a game with the Phoenix Coyotes in the desert (7:30 pm, TSN and The FAN 960). It looks like Brendan Morrison will pop up to the first line to centre Jarome Iginla and Alex Tanguay, while Stefan Meyer returns to the lineup in place of Craig Conroy.

Looking at this game on paper heading in, it was a game you thought the Calgary Flames should win if they made life difficult on the Colorado Avalanche. Well, that wasn't always the case Tuesday night in Denver, but it happened when it counted most and the Flames took a 4-2 come from behind win over the Colorado Avalanche.
