Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in FlamesNation.  It's been a busy holiday Monday, with the earlier news of Flames defenceman Staffan Kronwall opting to return to Europe. and now the latest injury news regarding the team.  Calgary defenceman Adam Pardy will be out indefinetely with a shoulder injury, while forward Rene Bourque is day-to-day with a head injury.

Kronwall Returns to Sweden

Calgary Flames and Abbotsford Heat defenceman Staffan Kronwall has opted to end his tenure with the American Hockey League's Heat, and instead return to his home club in Sweden.  It's a decision that comes with the blessing of both teams, and is probably mutually beneficial for both sides.

Postgame: That's Better

Well, that's a whole lot better.  After Calgary's 4-0 loss on the road in Edmonton, the Flames looked a whole lot better Sunday in their home opener, a 3-1 win over the LA Kings.  Curtis Glencross scored goal #1 on the season, shorthanded to boot, and Calgary rode a strong performance from Miikka Kiprusoff in net en route to the win.

So, after a game that everyone wants to forget on Thursday night in Edmonton, the Calgary Flames open their home schedule tonight at the newly minted Scotiabank Saddledome.  It's the first of four meetings between the Flames and the Los Angeles Kings this season (6 pm, Rogers Sportsnet West, The FAN 960).

Postgame: Mulligan?

We'll just pretend Thursday's Calgary Flames opener was the eight preseason game.  The regular season starts on Sunday, lets go with that.  Fact is, the Flames were not the better team at Rexall Place in Edmonton, and the new look Oilers were full marks for a 4-0 win.
