The Calgary Flames will take on a rather veteran Phoenix Coyotes lineup tonight at the Saddledome for their fourth preseason affair this year (7:30 pm, TSN and The FAN 960).  The Coyotes team will resemble very closely their opening day roster, while Calgary will have a number of notable names not playing.  It's also the home debut of Henrik Karlsson in net.

Training Camp Update - September 27th

For the first time in four days, Niklas Hagman was back on the practice ice at the Saddledome as the Calgary Flames continued 2010 training camp.  While he returned, both Rene Bourque and Raitis Ivanans were not on the ice for what the team called maintenance reasons.

Preseason Gameday Update - September 25th

The Calgary Flames will play their third preseason game tonight at the Saddledome when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning (7 pm, The Fan 960).  Calgary hasn't played since Tuesday, when they took 3-2 and 3-1 wins against the Vancouver Canucks.  Tampa Bay is coming off a game Thursday in Edmonton, where they fell 5-2 to the Oilers.  A number of notes to set this game up.

Training Camp Roster Reduced by 14

The Calgary Flames reduced their training camp roster by 14 players on Friday morning, sending all 14 players to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.  Of the players, Mitch Wahl is probably the most surprising to be assigned, mostly because of how he's impressed as of late.

Stajan Out Indefinetely

The Calgary Flames announced today forward Matt Stajan will be out indefinetely after suffering a seperated shoulder in a preseason game in Vancouver Tuesday night.  Stajan joins Daymond Langkow on the shelf, and both players don't have a set timetable to return at this time.
