Roughnecks: something other than hockey

Yep, even though the Flames aren't in the NHL's postseason dance, the city of Calgary gets some postseason action at the 'Dome in different forms. On the hockey front, they've got the WHL's Eastern Conference Champion Calgary Hitmen, who opened their series with Tri City on Friday night with an absolute thumping (7-0 Hitmen). Or there's the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League, who have a Saturday afternoon playoff date with the Edmonton Rush.

Darryl Sutter: the good

As the NHL playoffs and the offseason for the Calgary Flames continues, the topic of upper management and their future continues to be a hot topic. It's also a topic I've had a hell of a time forming an opinion on, as I've gone back and forth on how I feel about the whole thing. As such, I've tried to really plot out different argument points, and I've decided to trot out a "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" set when it comes to GM Darryl Sutter.

Montreal Canadiens v Washington Capitals - Game Two

Sometimes we hear the phrase "the grass is greener on the other side." Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't... but right now, a number of former members of the Calgary Flames are playing post-season hockey with another team. I thought it might be interesting to see how they're doing while Flames fans still lament the season that was.

2009 NHL Entry Draft, Rounds 2-7

Some want Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter to be sent packing after a disappointing season. Some believe it would be too hasty to make a change, and at least another year is appropriate. And some are still rocking the "In Sutter We Trust" T-shirts.

Calgary Flames v Phoenix Coyotes

I guess you can call Wednesday the official end of the season for the Calgary Flames, as the players did their traditional locker cleanup and exit interviews with the coaching staff and management. Monday it was Darryl Sutter and Ken King giving their thoughts on a disappointing season. While that session didn't seem to satisfy anyone, I felt we heard a little more from players on Wednesday afternoon
