The Calgary Flames kick off a four game road trip tonight having won six of their last eight games and playing their best hockey of the season. Beating teams outside of the "juggernaut" category is exactly what the Flames need to do, and they've done that over the last little bit, asserting their game on their opponents. Tonight's opponent isn't a world beater either, as Calgary visits Nashville for the first time this season (6 pm, Sportsnet West and Sportsnet 960).

You can make it eight in a row for the Calgary Flames over their provincial rivals, as the Flames were victorious in round three of the Battle of Alberta, taking a 3-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night. While it was close in the opening 20 minutes, the Flames gradually took this one over and snuffed out their upstart rivals to get above the .500 mark for the first time this season.

The Calgary Flames won their ninth consecutive game over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night, beating a team they usually beat. Tonight, they look for an eighth straight win over the Edmonton Oilers in round three of this season's Battle of Alberta (8 pm, CBC and Sportsnet 960). Last week, the Flames took a 5-3 win at Rexall Place in rather impressive fashion and can win three in a row for the first time this season with a win tonight.

Thanks to their best run of the season, the Calgary Flames have scaled their way back to .500, taking their 13th win of the season on Thursday night, 3-2 over the Colorado Avalanche. In an odd game overall, the Flames scored a pair of powerplay goals in the third period along with a pretty Olli Jokinen winner, helping them to a fourth win over Colorado this season. Calgary now has wins in five of seven and points in six of those games.

It seems all the Calgary Flames do lately is beat the Colorado Avalanche (or Edmonton Oilers). In the case of the former, the Flames have taken eight consecutive victories over them, sometimes in crushing fashion and sometimes in bizarre fashion. Any fashion will work for tonight, as Calgary plays host to Colorado for the fourth meeting between the teams this season (7 pm, Sportsnet Flames and Sportsnet 960).
