That's two wins in a row now, and the team, while not necessarily spectacular, has at least played admirably. But there are a lot of things you could call Edmonton and Nashville, and "as good as the Red Wings" isn't one of 'em.

The Calgary Flames will try to make it three straight wins tonight as they continue a three game road trip at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit (5:30 pm, Sportsnet Flames and The FAN 960).  It's a place that used to be absolute death/kryptonite/guaranteed failure for the Flames, but lately, that hasn't been the case at all.

We always hear that a player needs to find a role, accept that role and then excel at it if they want to be a difference maker. The lucky ones get to be goal scorers or point producers, but they are a rarity. The majority of players who stay in the league for an extended period of time have to find a role, and excel at it.

Not like it was an offensive showcase at the Bridgestone Arena (how many times has that place changed names?), but it's two points and consecutive points for the Calgary Flames.  Rene Bourque scored 2:10 into overtime to supply the only offence in a 1-0 Calgary win as the Flames move above the .500 mark for the first time this season.
