Well Calgary's rolling out about a 65-percent decent roster up front and a bunch of kids (plus Mark Giordano and Cory Sarich) on the blue line, in front of Kiprusoff. That's the bad news.

Preseason Gameday Update - September 25th

The Calgary Flames will play their third preseason game tonight at the Saddledome when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning (7 pm, The Fan 960).  Calgary hasn't played since Tuesday, when they took 3-2 and 3-1 wins against the Vancouver Canucks.  Tampa Bay is coming off a game Thursday in Edmonton, where they fell 5-2 to the Oilers.  A number of notes to set this game up.

The exhibition season has arrived, so the round-up finally has actual news to review. This week, the Flames take two from the Canucks, but not without a toll, hope springs eternal at everyone else's camps, and Brooks Orpik adds another questionable hit to his resume.

Training Camp Roster Reduced by 14

The Calgary Flames reduced their training camp roster by 14 players on Friday morning, sending all 14 players to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.  Of the players, Mitch Wahl is probably the most surprising to be assigned, mostly because of how he's impressed as of late.
