A seemingly uninspired Calgary Flames team wasn't able to muster much on Saturday night at the 'Dome, and they'd end up falling 3-1 at the hands of the Minnesota Wild. It drops Calgary back to 14th place in the Western Conference and two games below .500, and it's a disappointing finish to a three game home stand.

If there was ever a chance for the Calgary Flames to get on a nice little winning streak (longer than two), now would be the time, with a trio of games coming up where the Flames have winning records against the opponents. That starts tonight against the Minnesota Wild, the first of a home and home set with their division rival (8pm, CBC and The FAN 960).

The Wild is a team the Flames have already met three times this season and is also one of the rare clubs they have a winning record against so far (2-1). Minny is battling with the Flames and Oliers to stay out of the Western Conference basement and their predicament is a solid reminder that even sweeping regime changes can leave an organization spinning it's wheels.

It was a legitimately dominant performance for the Calgary Flames in a 5-2 Thursday night victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dion Phaneuf was a complete non issue in his return to Calgary, and the Flames made sure they skated circles around an inferior hockey club from start to finish.
