The Flames will begin the season on the road versus Taylor Hall (maybe?) and the Edmonton Oilers on October 7. Other dates of note inlcude:

The Flames have their home opener on Sunday, October 10th as they host the Los Angeles Kings. The Flames’ annual New Year’s Eve home game has Calgary hosting the Colorado Avalanche for a 7:00 pm start at the Pengrowth Saddledome. The Christmas schedule includes home games against Vancouver (December 1st), Tampa Bay (December 7th), Columbus (December 13th), Toronto (December 16th), Minnesota (December 18th) and Buffalo (December 27th). Calgary will face the Edmonton Oilers on New Years Day, Saturday January 1 at Rexall Place.

Personally, I just hope there’s less back-to-backs this year.

    Sorry Kent.

I counted 13 B2B’s and I don’t even know how many 3 games in 4 nights their are.

Longest road trip is 5 games an eastern roadie at the end of November.

Detroit, NY Rangers, New Jersey, Philadelphia & Pittsburgh.

At least the number of 8:00pm week night games has decreased. I think a good number of saturday night games this year though.

It should be interesting when Toronto and their newly crowned captain come in December. A little disappointed we don’t have Edmonton on New Year’s Eve, it would be nice if we could have the same opponent each year i.e The Labour Day Classic Stampeders vs. Eskimos.

Of course everyone will have that special day in February circled on their calendars. Any guesses yet what the weather will be like??? I’ll go on record and say it will be cold and sunny followed by clouds and blizzard like conditions and then as visibility becomes nil, a chinook rolls into town and plays havoc with the ice…it is Calgary after all!
