Interesting night. Things were close in the first and then the ducks used a few PP’s to take a big lead in terms of chances in the third, but the Flames were the only team to score in the middle frame. Calgary took over in the third for whatever reason, so a tie was a pretty natural end to this one.

The chance numbers are wonky, but for good reason: Bruce Boudreau targeted the Flames lesser lines with his scoring trio of Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan while Sutter was pretty much happy to allow Iginla and company to face the Ducks second line. As a result, the Backlund line was deployed like a pure shut-down unit while Iginla et al got some softer circumstances.

I think it was the sc at 2:02 left in the 3rd, the 2on1 with Tangs and Iggy. Iggy shoots over the net when he had the top half of the net open. That was the game gift wrapped for the taking, but aside from that with Ana hitting like 5posts we have to consider we had our fair share of luck too, so take the point and run I guess.
