World Juniors Begin, Ferland Back to Brandon?

The World Juniors kicked off on Wednesday in Ufa, Russia and Flames players performed rather well in their first games. Meanwhile, it seems like a Flames pro prospect might return to his junior squad.



While it’s probably prudent to curb ones enthusiasm, given Team Canada’s opening game at the World Junior Championship in Russia amounted to little more than a controlled scrimmage against an overmatched opponent, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gave fans plenty to cheer about in a 9-3 waltz over Germany today.

AGD: Last Game Before the Break

    Mercifully for the stumbling Heat, tonight’s tilt against the Rockford Ice Hogs is the last game before the Christmas break for the team. After yesterday’s 5-1 whipping at the hands of the Grand Rapids Griffins, I’m sure most of the guys are just looking forward to getting home and seeing their families.
