The Nation Minute

The Nation Network is proud to introduce the Nation Minute,
a rapid fire look around the network and the NHL every Monday morning. With the season drawing closer we take a gander at achievable milestones this year. Enjoy!

Don’t hate the video or the concept. I think it’s completely valid, especially for people that aren’t on twitter/up to date with everything going on. I will say that it looks like she has absolutely no idea what to do with her hands the whole time though… #everyoneisacritic

I thought a Nation’s Minute would be clever, not just a bad derivative of sports TV as it was done 15 years ago. The hostess is awkward and the information is pedestrian. The Nation followers are hardcore hockey nuts we’re not easily pandered to. This was not well done.

Who cares what she is doing with her hands. If your looking at her hands and other aspects of the production this video probably wasn’t intended for you. I for one was fully entertained just based on her looks alone.

Which I’m sure is the business model here.

Three things: One, I like the attempt at branching out, Kudos!

Two, if the information presented was in terms of fantasy hockey updates/previews it may work better; or at the very least more focused on a specific informational angle. General news/facts is a saturated market from MSM…

Lastly, the music had to be the worst porn sound track I have heard in the last decade. It was so bad it was almost good, but probably did your host no favours.

I like it. It’s just the first video–she looks pro enough to me to make me think she’ll quickly adapt and get comfortable. Have you ever had to give a speech and know what to do with your hands (without a podium in front of you)? It’s tough!

Hopefully the info gets deeper and it becomes more of an insider report. But not bad for the first try. Looked and sounded good.
