All the best Glennie you were a good soldier and you’ve come along ways pal. All the best..

Sven gets his chance..this could be exciting! Sven Reloaded in a playoff race

Glencross was once a favourite in Edmonton and still is. However he probably knew Edmonton is on more NHL players No Trade Lists of all Canadian Teams. Glencross may well leave Alberta. Why shouldn’t he leave to finally get to a higher level playoff club?

LW has been a deep position in Calgary for years now. Tanguay, Huselius, Cammalleri, Bourque, Glencross, Gaudreau, Baertschi, etc.

Glenny has been one of the more consistent LWers for the past 6 years but now there’s more than a few wingers who can take his top 6 spot. It’s time for him to move on and show he’s a key cog in a contenders middle 6 so the timing of all this is pretty much perfect.

The problem with Glencross is that he’s always been convinced he was a #1 LW and when he didn’t have his way everyone knew about it. An arrogant athlete is a good thing I think, but at 32 he’s better off elsewhere.

I’ll agree with WW for the first time and say we better get some defensive prospects in return.

Molberg: I’m hearing he’s now asked to be dealt.

BT on the Fan 960 this afternoon says GlenX has not asked for a trade. GlenX wants to contribute more to the playoff run and feels he is not being used to his fullest. He is just showing his frustration at being bumped down to third line and ice time cut.

But, the fact is Monahan has earned being the number one centre and along with Gaudreau and Hudler have good chemistry….And, Bouma has upped his play substantially and deserves being Number 2 LW..

A rental D-man for rental GlenX. I do believe GlenX has a lot more to give and wish him luck with his playoff team this year and whoever signs him for following years.

  • If Flames can’t get a desired D-man prospect, would asking for a first rounder be too much for GlenX?

With so many teams interested, it is possible CGY create a bidding-war, and try their luck for a 1st rounder.

I think a 2nd round pick is the expected price tag..

But you never know what deals might be worked out with packaging Glencross with a prospect or another player might return.

Maybe even if the Flames are willing to take back a contract that is possible..

Glencross is having an off year in terms of points and has been surpassed by younger players. I think the asking price would be a 3rd and maybe BT can start a bidding war to up that to a 2nd. But a 1st straight up for glencross is way too much.

If all we can get is a third rounder…keep him!

Flames in a playoff race just like the team that will get him…we need a 3rd pairing D-man, although Engelland has been playing better lately and is good on the road…Diaz has been better too.

Rumors are that ChiHawks are very interested…what would you want from them? And please don’t say draft pick!

  • Burnward

We got a 3rd round pick for Stempniak. Glen X will get us a second round pick or a B prospect on his own at best. A package deal is the only way we get more back. Him and Ramo for a 1st rounder and B prospect D man would be a good exchange, as an example. I think if you can package him with someone else you get a better return, so hopefully they try that route.
