Getting back to the Flames discussion on RW targets; I’m wondering if Nichushkin might be available as they have a young RW waiting in the wings in Gurianov; who on various sites is highly regarded.

Also wondering if instead of trying to hit a home run at RW might it be easier to find the right complimentary piece for the first line? It seemed to work well for Pittsburg.

Are there young RW out there who might be just about ready to make the next step? WW brings up McCarron out of Montreal? What about Josh Anderson out of Columbus after his playoffs in the Calder Cup 15 games 12 points 6’3 220 RW(RH). Read a rumor that Boston is thinking of moving the older Hayes brother; could we swap Bouma for him?(Would it be an upgrade?)

I can’t wait to see how BT deals with the next two weeks.

Apparently the Flames have contacted the Penguins about Fleury. Would be a good move if they can make it happen. Second round pick should do it. Then all the Flames need to do is sign Monahan and Gaudreau and look for a top 6 RW. If they do that, I think they finish in the top 3 in the Pacific next season.

It’s a buyer’s market for goalies right now. Because everybody knows that any team with 2 good goalies has to move one or lose him for nothing.

Pittsburgh is not in the driver’s seat. They have a very expensive goalie who had good stretches, but also poops the bed on a routine basis.

He’s adequate if you never plan on making the playoffs. But if you don’t plan to make the playoffs, then there’s no need to give up big assets for a $6m goalie who chokes harder than an angry Darth Vader.
