    • The GREAT WW

If you are referring to the officiating; I doubt it.

I hope that game 1 was a one-time gift from the league to the Oilers to open their new barn…..

      • tileguy

Mr. WW, I think it is more about Gary Bettman and the NHL wanting the Flames franchise to fail so that it can be relocated to Seattle.
See how easy it is for everybody to make stupid remarks.

        • The GREAT WW

You certainly make it look super easy TG!

As long as we all agree that the officiating in game 1 was ridiculous, regardless of motivation from the league, I think we can move on….

    • Arminius

You bet because you know the team that gets out shot 41-27, coughs up 2 shorties and 4 goals in total usually loses right?
Basically you have fingers crossed for another shaky performance from Elliott and choice reffing?
Guess we’ll see how that works out for you

      • Dreadguy

Elliot will be shaky again, average at best. He’s a decent sized tender that has a habit of making himself small in the net (That is a quote from Hrudey during last year’s playoffs). Remember the playoffs last year when he was terrible and got replaced? His #’s over the last few years are stellar, no doubt, but that was on a team that is a defensive juggernaut. The Oilers will score a minimum of 4 goals tonight.

Maybe Gaudreau will get a point at home.

I’ll post this again for those who didn’t see it!!

Lil Johnny is a hell of a player….AT HOME. Hughson and Simpson never commented on it but SN put up a graphic last night that showed last year johnny was 106th in scoring on the road. That makes him a mediocre 4th liner when his coach can’t get him a favourable match-up. Flames just paid a lot of money for a guy with that on his resume. Doesn’t exactly scream future Conn Smythe winner to me.

Gonna be interesting to see how Calgary’s d matches up tonight. They want to load up Gio and Brody against McDavid’s line . They still have to contend with two other pretty good centers in NUGE and Draisaitl.
After that first defensive pairing things get a little less tough. I think the size and speed of Edmonton’s forwards gives Calgary trouble on the forecheck.
