The Calgary Flames beat the Buffalo Sabres by a 2-1 score (in overtime) on Tuesday night. Here are selected reactions from players and coaches following the game.
The Calgary Flames played their second game in as many nights on Tuesday night. They also played their third consecutive pretty good game, avoiding panic when they trailed after the first period. They beat the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 in overtime to complete their brief road trip.
Everything is possible in this life.
Just 21 hours after a pretty complete effort in Toronto, the Calgary Flames (6-5-1, 13 points) trek south across the border to visit the Buffalo Sabres (6-4-1, 13 points). The National Hockey League’s doormat last season, the Sabres are young, fast and fun.

Though it took them until the third period to finally score, the Flames played nearly as perfect a game as a team probably could. They’ll have to keep it up to prove it wasn’t a one-off, though.
