Travis Hamonic doesn’t practice on Saturday

The Calgary Flames were without Travis Hamonic for the latter half of Friday night’s game against the Washington Capitals. Based on reports from Sunday’s practice, Hamonic was absent from the ice.

The Flames are carrying one extra forward (Austin Czarnik) and one extra defenseman (Dalton Prout). They can recall another player at any time without making additional roster moves, but they would need to open another roster spot if they need to call up two bodies.

We’ll have more updates on the Flames’ injury statuses as they become available. The Flames play the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh on Sunday afternoon.

I am worried about the Hamonic injury. Andersson can move up to the second pairing but that leaves Prout with Kylington or Valimaki being recalled. Kylington played a little on the RS last night with Hanifin. I suspect BT is working the phone a little harder for a depth defender than he was a week ago. Stay tuned.(also this might give us a bigger hint about Stone’s status- they can’t rush him as he won’t get medical clearance until his dr’s say so)
