One of my favourite memories growing up was going on YouTube in its early days and watching as many montage videos of the 2004 Cup run as I could get my hands on. I literally couldn’t get enough.
I told myself when I was older, I would make my own to commemorate great seasons and playoff runs the team would have in the future. The problem was, nothing worth commemorating actually ever happened for the longest time.
That is, until the 2014-15 season. I finally got to cut my teeth in making a montage for something exciting regarding the Calgary Flames. Since then, I’ve been able to make a few more, one for the playoff run that year and then the 2016-17 rollercoaster season.
This year was different than all of them, though. There was simply so much to fit in, I had trouble editing it all together. You don’t realize how many great moments occurred this past year until you really start looking into it.
In the end, the result was what I hope is a fitting tribute to the second best regular season in Calgary Flames franchise history. A season filled to the brim with excitement, jubilance and optimism. Those are three words not oft associated with the local hockey heroes. Those are three words I hope will be associated with them for a long time to come.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.
Well done Christian, always been a fan of your montages. Here’s to a long and exciting playoff run so you can create another one to capture the Flames winning the cup!!
Thank you! I’d love nothing more than to make another in June.
Oh man I love hockey! GFG!
Haha my favorite is rittich celebrating as Johnny is skating over the blue line
Terrific video
Time to go to War
Believe
GFG
That was nice. To bad the only thing anyone will remember from this season is the Flames losing in the first round yet again. The Avs are bigger, stronger, faster, and have a superior goalie than anything the Flames can send out. Just hoping they at least win a game.
You good dog?
I think he needs some deworming pills.
But do they have 5 players over 70 points? Do they have 50 wins? Do they have home ice? Do they have a Norris trophy winning defensemen? Do they have a Veteran coach?
Flames in 5.
Somebody won the Norris? I don’t remember this.

The 👍 is for your Thunder
Lol usual trolling negativity. Funny how you keep saying all other teams are faster then Calgary. Literally your the only one saying that. Calgary has been better then Colorado in basically every single category all year.
delusional
Na he’s just a pessimist. Expect the worst and then success will feel even better lol.
Pessimist – Oiler fan. Same same
9 guys on Colorado roster smaller than 6 feet. 11 guys less than 200 pounds. no real way to judge strength. goalie stats are very similar so to say they are superior is an outright lie. Your comment is obviously specifically made for trolling or you don’t have a clue
Offense is basically a wash, except I dont think the flames will have an answer for MacKinnon. The book is out on how to shut down Calgary’s top line, it will be much harder slowing down the Avs top line. So advantage Avs. Defense is advantage Flames for sure. However I could see the young mobile defence of Colorado taking advantage of their speed and causing the Flames all sorts of problems. Lastly goaltending. You’ll never convince me that the Flames have better goalies than any other team currently in the playoffs. Smith sucks and Rittich is better but only marginally. Grubauer is going to steal the series for the Avs, and it will sadly be another year of just not good enough for the Flames.
Offense is a wash? Calgary got 29 more goals and had a +48 goal differential. And Calgary’s depth scoring is by far more superior. Offense is easily a check for Calgary. This is also agreed by every sports analyst so lots of unbiased opinions agree
Imagine a life where your greatest gratification is posting negative comments on the fan site of a team you don’t support . . .
It’s the very definition of pathetic!!
Raffy puppy, at this point you’re just looking for relevance. Go and fetch that tennis ball I threw an hour ago. Cmon. The lawn isn’t that big, move your arse and be useful.
Get a life Raffydog, It’s truly sad that all you do is come here and spew negativity.
pettiness and jealousy are your calling cards, but hey, its the peak season for your team, as the draft lottery is upon us… enjoy it to the fullest, take the day off, drink a few with friends, all with paper bags over their faces
Wow Raffy, it’s a wonder how we won all 3 games against them this season, hey?
I’m not trying to bash the team or diminish their accomplishment this season, just think that in a seven game series the Avs have the advantage. Flames top line has been exposed since the all star break, and teams have the recipe for shutting them down, so they wont be a factor. That leaves Colorado’s top line against the 3m line, which is basically a wash like I said. But what it’s going to come down to is goaltending and I believe Grubauer is going to steal the series. Sorry if that hurts everybody’s feelings but that’s my opinion.
Nobody’s feelings are hurt, we’re just aghast at you’re short sighted negativity. Colorado is shallow, and have split up the top line in the second half of the season to spread around talent. So neither of their new top 2 lines are at the level of the Flames top 2. And when speaking of the bottom half, Flames all the way. Now with goal tending, that’s the one aspect where the Avs have over the Flames. Anything can happen with a hot goalie, but that certainly doesn’t swing the overall advantage, and you’re basically saying that the goalie is the only factor that matters in the playoffs. That’s being purposely blind, unless you’ve never watched a handful of playoff series’.
Please done beat up on raffydog. He uses negativity so he doesn’t have to deal with crushing defeat no matter how low the odds might be. If he gave any hope at all and the flames didnt deliver on the smallest margarine raffydog would not exist. He is the biggest fan and if they dont achieve to his minimalist ideas he would have to throw himself on his own sword. So you go raffydog. Put down the top western team. Despite their 82 game season standing, they are the worst in the whole nhl.
Turns out rat dog likes the taste of it like most dogs do. Now the only question is: is he flexible enough to lick his own…?
Had a grin on the whole time
Sick job man, Perfect
raffydog is right
Actually he is wrong. Our defense is just as bad as our forwards and goalies.
He is as right as everyone was last year predicting the Oilers were Stanley Cup contenders.
Felt that. masterful job.
Well done Nation! We hit 50 entrants in the Playoff pool.
Here is the entry info again.
