Tod Button breaks down the Flames 2021 draft class

The 2021 NHL Draft has been completed and the Calgary Flames have added eight players to their organization. Following the draft proceedings, Flames director of amateur scouting Tod Button chatted with the media and provided his thoughts on each of the prospects the club added over the weekend.


Flames select Jack Beck at 168th overall

The Calgary Flames have made another pick at the 2021 NHL Draft, and completed the final unfinished portion of the 2019 trade that saw Milan Lucic join the Flames. In the sixth round, with a pick acquired earlier today from Los Angeles, at 168th overall they have selected winger Jack Beck.


Flames select Cole Jordan at 141st overall

After taking the fourth round to catch up on other tasks, the Calgary Flames have made another selection at the 2021 NHL Draft. In the fifth round, with the 141st overall pick, they’ve selected defenseman Cole Jordan.


Flames select Cameron Whynot at 89th overall

The Calgary Flames have made another pick at the 2021 NHL Draft. After trading down from 84th overall to 89th overall with the Los Angeles Kings – downgrading by five slots but gaining a sixth round pick – they have opted to select defenseman Cameron Whynot.
