Flames unveil 40th season logo

The Calgary Flames arrived in town way back in 1980. Given that we’re headed into the 2019-20 season, the club has plans to celebrate their 40th season. The team revealed their anniversary logo via press release on Monday morning.
The crest features retro colouring, tying into the scheme for the Flames’ current third jersey. While nothing’s been officially announced as of yet, it’s probably reasonable to assume given the anniversary season and the upcoming Heritage Classic that retro jerseys will be featured prominently by the Flames this season. Teams are allowed to wear their third jerseys for 12 home dates and it’s probably safe to speculate that they’ll wearing them as much as they can in the 2019-20 season.
We don’t have an official reveal date for the Heritage Classic jersey as of yet, but the Winnipeg Jets are likely unveiling theirs at their Sept. 13 fan fest – so that’s a good date to keep in the back of your mind if you are a jersey junkie.
The Flames begin their 2019-20 schedule on Oct. 3 when they visit the Colorado Avalanche.
