2 Guys and a Goalie pres. by Odds Shark- Auston Matthews, Tkachuk Signing, Kris Abbot from Odds Shark

Welcome to “2 Guys and a Goalie,” starring Dustin Nielson, Joaquin Gage, and Matt Kassian and presented by Odds Shark, Popeye’s Louisiana Chicken, and Sports Clips Haircuts. The show focuses on stories, notes, transactions, and everything else happening all around the NHL and the world of hockey.

For episode four, the boys discuss the Matthew Tkachuk signing, and whether a bridge deal was the right move for the Calgary Flames, the team’s Stanley Cup odds, and Giordano’s chances of winning another Norris Trophy.

But they started things off with the Auston Matthews incident and discussed whether this changes his chances of being named captain.

This led right into them discussing the Popeyes Poll Question: Who should be the Toronto Maple Leafs captain,Auston Matthews, John Tavares, or Morgan Rielly?

Kris Abbot, of Odds Shark, calls in to discuss Stanley Cup odds for the Flames and Winnipeg Jets, as well as some playoff odds for other teams around the league. But he first has to try and pass some Joaquin Gage Trivia.

The boys then get into some top ten lists. Dusty does his “Top 10 Players You’d Pay to Watch,” Gager does his “Top 10 Cable Guy Requirements for Customers,” while Kass mails it in with only a Top 5, but it’s a topic so unique that you’ll have to see for yourself…

Then the boys to the first edition of a new segment, “Keep it or Clip it?” presented by Sports Clips. Dusty poses a question about each Canadian team and Gager and Kass either agree (Keep it) or disagree (Clip it):

  • Elias Petterson finishes as a Top 10 scorer
  • Patrik Laine will no longer be on the Winnipeg Jets this time next week
  • You’d have Mitch Marner over Auston Matthews
  • Goaltending be the reason the Edmonton Oilers miss the playoffs
  • Thomas Chabot will lead the Ottawa Senators in scoring
  • Mark Giordano will be a Norris Trophy finalist
  • Carey Price will win the Vezina Trophy
