In advance of Thursday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, the Calgary Flames have made a pair of connected roster moves.
Forward Glenn Gawdin has been assigned to the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat. With a roster spot freed up by Gawdin’s assignment, Brad Richardson has been activated from the injury reserve.
Richardson suffered an injury in the final game of the pre-season back on Oct. 8.
The move reduces the Flames’ running cap commitments by $750,000 – Richardson counted against the cap while on the IR – and gives them a little bit of salary cap breathing room going forward.
