2018-19 Calgary Flames tribute montage

Apr 8, 2019, 16:00 EDT
One of my favourite memories growing up was going on YouTube in its early days and watching as many montage videos of the 2004 Cup run as I could get my hands on. I literally couldn’t get enough.
I told myself when I was older, I would make my own to commemorate great seasons and playoff runs the team would have in the future. The problem was, nothing worth commemorating actually ever happened for the longest time.
That is, until the 2014-15 season. I finally got to cut my teeth in making a montage for something exciting regarding the Calgary Flames. Since then, I’ve been able to make a few more, one for the playoff run that year and then the 2016-17 rollercoaster season.
This year was different than all of them, though. There was simply so much to fit in, I had trouble editing it all together. You don’t realize how many great moments occurred this past year until you really start looking into it.
In the end, the result was what I hope is a fitting tribute to the second best regular season in Calgary Flames franchise history. A season filled to the brim with excitement, jubilance and optimism. Those are three words not oft associated with the local hockey heroes. Those are three words I hope will be associated with them for a long time to come.
I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.
