All-Flames Frozen Four Finals: Providence College vs. Boston University (5:30pm MT, TSN2)

Now that the Calgary Flames regular season is over, let’s think about the future. And for the Flames, that future is in the NCAA.
Tonight we have a clash between the two best teams in college hockey with national supremacy on the line as the Boston University Terriers take on the Providence College Friars. The Terriers have five NCAA titles, the most recent in 2009, and boast the likes of draft wunderkind Jack Eichel and Flames pick Brandon Hickey. The Friars have no national championships and three Flames picks: Mark Jankowski, Jon Gillies and John Gilmour. The game is widely expected to be Gillies’ last college outing before he goes pro.
Puck drop is at 5:30pm MT on TSN2!

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Since these teams are both from Hockey East, they played a couple times this season.
- October 31: Boston University 4, Providence College 1
- November 1: Providence College 2, Boston University 1
I think I would favour Boston University slightly, but it’s basically college hockey’s insanely skilled forward (Jack Eichel) against college hockey’s insanely big goalie (Jon Gillies), in what could probably end up being both of their final college games.
