The Calgary Flames will be looking to avoid losing five games in a row for the first time since March 2018 when they return home to face the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday as -140 favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary saw its longest losing streak of the season get extended to four games on Sunday with a lopsided 6-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, leaving the club sitting outside the Western Conference playoff picture going into Tuesday’s game at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Avalanche at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

A lack of offensive production has emerged as a massive concern in Calgary. The Flames have now gone just over 130 minutes without finding the back of the net, and have been outscored by a wide 15-3 margin during their four-game slide.
Overall, the Flames have scored more than three goals on just three occasions over their past 11 contests, and entered the week ranked 29th in the NHL with just 2.52 goals scored per game, a full goal per game back of the 3.52 goals they averaged last season. That trend has netted steady returns for those taking the UNDER at sports betting sites, which has gone 7-3-1 over Calgary’s past 11 games, and 13-8-2 so far this season.
But while a scoring touch has eluded the Flames, it has not been for lack of effort. The team was largely dominated in last Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to Dallas, but racked up 100 total shots over the other three outings during their current four-game slide.
The Avalanche continue a five-game road trip in Calgary off a 5-4 win in Vancouver as a +120 wager on Saturday to improve to 4-1-0 over their past five contests. The Avalanche have regained the early-season form that netted them wins in eight of their first 10 games despite injuries to Mikko Rantanen, Gabriel Landeskog, and Philipp Grubauer.
Colorado will now be aiming to extend the win streak against the Flames that began in the first round of last spring’s NHL playoffs. The Avalanche won four straight to take their opening-round series in five games, and also tallied a 5-3 win at Pepsi Center as -130 chalk on opening night, ending a dismal 1-7-1 run over their previous nine meetings.
