Number one thing here is if Jake Allen starts the Flames are going to struggle. He always has their number and stops them frequently. (Editor’s note: it sounds like Samuel Montembeault gets the start.) The Habs play structure as a whole has the Flames being favoured in this one via HockeyViz.com so if there’s any positive odds in that direction look out. Both teams seem to surrender more chances than they would like so shot props are another good place to look.

Primary Bet – Sean Monahan to get 1+ points (-118)

A $1 bet pays out $1.85 – Monahan is having a fantastic – and healthy – start to the season in Montreal. He’s still a favourite of Flames fans so the collective groan if he’s involved will be a little lighter.

Secondary Bet – Jonathan Huberdeau 1+ assists (+140)

A $1 bet pays out $2.40 – playing on a line with the most consistent duo the Flames have had since Gaudreau and Tkachuk left is now Mr. Huberdeau. If this can’t get him going there isn’t a piece on your roster that will help, better hope it works Flames fans.

Tertiary bet – Calgary Flames 34+ shots on goal (-105)

A $1 bet pays out $1.95 – The Flames will find their holes in the Montreal defence. They may not beat Allen but they should certainly get enough rubber on him to make it look like he had a hard night.
