4 years ago@Calgary Flames goaltender @Cam Talbot has been named the NHL’s third star of week.
Talbot went red hot in three games for the Flames last week with a 3-0 record (1.67 GAA, .953 save %) that helped the club secure first place in the Pacific Division following a Saturday win against the @Edmonton Oilers.
On Jan. 7, Talbot’s 31 save effort helped the Flames beat the @Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 and two night later he stood tall stopping 42 shots in a 2-1 win over the @Minnesota Wild.
The 32-year-old Caledonia, Ont. native closed out his week with a 29 save night against the @Edmonton Oilers Saturday night.
Talbot has been a strong backup to @David Rittich this season posting a 7-7 record with a 2.54 GAA and .922 save percentage in 16 appearances.
But as of late, the netminder has heated up. Since Dec. 7, Talbot has a 6-2 record, a 2.05 GAA and a .940 save percentage.
Talbot was signed by the Flames this past offseason to a one-year, $2.75-million deal.
