Amid more bad news regarding the team’s COVID-19 outbreak, another Calgary Flames game has been postponed. The club’s scheduled home game on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets has been postponed.
This is the fourth game to be postponed due to the Flames’ outbreak. Monday’s game in Chicago, Tuesday’s game in Nashville and Thursday’s home date with Toronto were also postponed.
The Flames currently have 16 players in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol. The next game still on the schedule is their Dec. 23 home date with the Seattle Kraken.
Six players could be activated from the protocol prior to that game, should they remain asymptomatic after their positive tests: Elias Lindholm, Andrew Mangiapane, Brad Richardson, Adam Ruzicka, Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov. This would, however, leave the Flames with another 10 players unavailable in the protocol.
We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
