The hockey calendar is about to officially flip over to the 2022-23 season following the entry draft and the opening of free agency on July 13, but the oddsmakers have already turned their attention to next season. Various betting sites – including our friends at PointsBet Canda – have announced their Stanley Cup futures odds for 2022-23.
The Calgary Flames are +1800 – the equivalent of 18-to-1 – to win the Stanley Cup, the 10th-best odds in the league.
The nine teams with better odds than the Flames are:
  1. Colorado (+450)
  2. Tampa Bay (+900)
  3. Toronto (+900)
  4. Florida (+1000)
  5. Carolina (+1100)
  6. Vegas (+1200)
  7. NY Rangers (+1600)
  8. Minnesota (+1700)
  9. St. Louis (+1700)
The other Canadian teams include Edmonton (+1900), Vancouver (+4500), Winnipeg (+6000), Ottawa (+7500) and Montreal (+10000). The Arizona Coyotes are the longest long-shot with +50000 odds to win.
These odds are obviously subject to change throughout the off-season, and almost definitely will given the likelihood of free agent departures and arrivals throughout the league.
