Flames prospect viewing guide: Dec. 11-17

We’re headed into another weekend and the hockey schedule seems fairly spotty. This is partially due to many, many COVID-19 pauses in many leagues and partially due to teams slowly waning off games before the winter holiday break.

Here’s who’s playing (and when) this week!

(Note: There’s a decent chance that some or all of Artyom Zagidulin, Dmitry Zavgorodniy, Eetu Tuulola or Martin Pospisil will be recalled from their European loans at any point this week so they can observe their quarantine period prior to NHL training camp. If NHL camp is smaller than usual, though, they might not all come back right away.)

Should be playing, but aren’t

Connor Zary and Jakob Pelletier are at Canada’s World Junior camp. Yan Kuznetsov is at Russia’s World Junior camp. Dustin Wolf is at USA Hockey’s World Junior camp. Televised pre-tournament games begin next week.
AIK (Lucas Feuk) is part of the league-wide shutdown of Sweden’s top junior league that runs through the end of December.
The QMJHL has shut down until Jan. 6, so no games for Ryan Francis or Jeremie Poirier for awhile.
Finland’s SM-Liiga has shut down until after Christmas, so no games for Eetu Tuulola for awhile.
Lincoln (Jake Boltmann) had both of their games this week postponed after minimum safety standards were deemed to not have been met in their arena.
It’s a scheduled off-week for Michigan State (Mitchell Mattson & Josh Nodler).
