The Calgary Flames will be looking to avoid sinking back into sixth place in the North Division standings when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday as -120 road favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
With Monday’s 5-1 loss to Winnipeg, Calgary has now dropped six of its past eight decisions, and now sits deadlocked with Vancouver in the divisional standings going into Wednesday night’s matchup at Rogers Arena.

The momentum gained by the Flames from the arrival of head coach Darryl Sutter has clearly dissipated. Winners in four of their first five contests with Sutter behind the bench, it has been all downhill since for Calgary. The team has scored just nine total goals during its current 1-5-0 run that leaves them knotted with Vancouver with identical 16-18-3 records on the season.
And with the two teams now trailing fourth-place Montreal by four points in the division following the Canadiens’ decisive 4-0 victory over Edmonton on Tuesday night, there should be an air of desperation hanging over Wednesday’s contest. The Flames’ recent woes have not been helped by their shaky performance on the road. The team has lost three straight on the road, and eight of its past 11 dates away from Scotiabank Saddledome.
A lack of scoring punch has been a massive problem for the Flames on the road. Calgary shooters have scored just two total goals during the team’s current three-game road losing streak, and have been limited to just a single goal in nine of their past 15 away contests. That has made the UNDER a reliable wager at sports betting sites, going 4-1 in the team’s past five away dates. However, the Flames have been a steady disappointment when set as a road favorite, losing outright in four of their past five such outings.
However, the Flames have earned the win in seven of their past 10 dates with the Canucks, including a 4-2-0 record in six meetings so far this season. That success extends to recent clashes in Vancouver, where the Flames have won two of three this season, and four of five over the past two years.
Listed as +100 home underdogs, the Canucks enter Wednesday’s action desperate for a win to preserve rapidly fading playoff hopes. Vancouver looked poised to turn things around after a horrid start to the season after opening the month of March on a steady 8-2-0 run. However, the team has now lost three straight while getting outscored by a wide 15-4 margin, and has scored just four times during a 1-3-0 run on home ice. That has spawned a steady 6-1-1 run for the UNDER in the team’s past eight home dates.
