FlamesNation Report Card: April 8, 2016

Well, there’s just one game left. Alas, report card day is Friday, so that final game will have to wait until next week for everyone to get graded on.
In the meantime, we watched the Flames lay the smackdown on both the Oilers and Canucks, and somehow stay toe-to-toe with the Los Angeles Kings, who might just win the Pacific Division. It was an awful week for the tank, but a really fun week for, you know, watching hockey.
The Flames scored 16 goals in three games; how fun is that? Mikael Backlund led the way with six, including his first career hat trick, and an assist to get him seven points. Joe Colborne got seven points, too. Johnny Gaudreau picked up five points. Hunter Shinkaruk picked up his first ever goal on home ice.
Do you need any more proof than Deryk Engelland’s two goals in back-to-back games that it was a magical week?
In personnel news, Michael Frolik didn’t play all week, and Lance Bouma’s season ended two games early. Drew Shore got to join the team, though.
Let’s grade ’em.
