Jacob Markström becomes first Flames goaltender ever to record three shutouts in four games

In case you couldn’t tell, Jacob Markström is feeling it right now.

With a 4-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, Markström became the first goaltender in Calgary Flames history to record three shutouts in four games.

Markström made 20 saves in the victory, improving to 4-1-1 with a .957 save percentage on the season. He tied his single-season career-high with his third shutout of the year.

According to Natural Stat Trick, the Flyers generated 2.05 expected goals in all situations in Saturday’s game (Calgary managed 3.93). Instead, Markström held them to zero.

@Sean Monahan, @Matthew Tkachuk, @Mikael Backlund, and @Johnny Gaudreau scored for Calgary, which won its sixth consecutive game.

Markström has allowed just one goal in his last four starts, posting a 4-0-0 record and a .992 save percentage in that span. He has not allowed a goal in 134:45 of playing time.
