Post-Sim Wrap-Up: Flames lose to Ducks 3-1

After a last minute home win over the San Jose Sharks two nights prior, the virtual Calgary Flames returned to home ice on March 25 to host the Anaheim Ducks. The Flames fell into some familiar habits, unfortunately, giving up a lead late and losing 3-1 to the Ducks.

Lineups

Flames:
  • Forwards: Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm, Mangiapane-Backlund-Tkachuk, Lucic-Ryan-Dube, Bennett-Jankowski-Rieder
  • Defense: Giordano-Brodie, Hanifin-Hamonic, Gustafsson-Andersson
  • Goalies: Talbot starting, Rittich as backup
Ducks:
  • Forwards: Milano-Getzlaf-Heinen, Rakell-Henrique-Silfverberg, Jones-Steel-Sherwood, Deslauriers-Backes-Rowney
  • Defense: Manson-Irwin, Larsson-del Zotto, Djoos-Hakanpaa
  • Goalies: Gibson starting, with Miller as backup

Results

The good news is that the Flames scored early and led for much of the game. Unfortunately, the Ducks made a big push late in the third period. They tied the game late and scored twice in rapid succession to win.
